I'm back - not because this turd of a post office location improved, but because I've been busy.
So I went yesterday. Front door has been broken for weeks so the solution is to prop the door open with a bag of sand - which funnels all customers in and out through one door and allows dust and leaves into building. Which would matter if there wasn't already tape peelings, pens, forms and boxes laying about. The Asian lady (tm) was in fine form yelling at two customers in a row - one lady was so mad she just turned around and left and an older gentlemen - who's infraction was incorrectly designating MA as the abbreviation for Maine was given the "no soup for you!" treatment.
Of course I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that the infamous "Hole in a Wall (tm)" drop box was, of course jammed/broken. After taking a YEAR to repair it. Given that the freeway work crews have done their best to isolate all access to this location, surely this location is NFL (Not For Long).
It would be a joy to see it expunged but given it is the only location for almost 100,000 people we'd suffer.
Worse than we already are.

Its fixed! Sort of....
Well, after a year they finally got the night drop box fixed. As I remind everyone - it wasn't the box that was broken - it was the lazy employees allowed the packages to fill up the baskets behind the box, and they wouldn't empty them. The night deposit then overfilled and jammed and people would yard on it until it broke.
Day 2 of the "new" hole in the wall - 3pm - the packages overflow from the back and the box james.
Again.
See a pattern? I do.
Never send a government employee to manage anything - even a hole in a wall. It's beyond them.

Worst of the Worsty Worst....Ahwatukee Post Office Hell
Well, true to their word - they have no idea when the Hole in the Wall (tm) will be fixed - it's been weeks and they said they had no clue - AND - they still have no clue. As advertised.
I'm always amazed thought by the blank stare I get when I dialogue with them. It's like Deliverance with less banjos -
"When will the Hole in the Wall (tm) be fixed?"
"What?"
"The Hole in the Wall that accepts packages -"
"Oh yeah, I dunno. We're not supposed to say when it will be fixed..."
"Does that mean you know when it will be fixed and it's a secret?"
"I'm not sure...."
"You're not sure it's a secret"
"Sir - I just work here...."
"Gotcha...."

Ahwatukee Post Office - Duh
This pathetic excuse for a post office just gets worse and worse. Apart from the slovenly staff with the tattoos and offensive t-shirts (I'm serious!) they continue to have issues with simply accepting mail and packages.
Customers are forced to pile packages insecurely on the floor and/or wait 20 minutes in line to drop off a simple pre-paid package. It is of little comfort that they have placed "Customer Service Expectation" signs at various locations in the gulag (replete with spelling and grammar and punctuation errors!). While in line enjoy the posters that were supposed to be changed out 08/2007. I guess its like a poster museum now?
On to my main topic - the night depository slot/box/thing. As you know, in this location my actual success rate of using it after hours is about 30%. That is if I avoid Sunday altogether - my failure rate on a Sunday is 100%.
I complained to a manageress about it and she literally said "if the customers would stop using it so much, it wouldn't break.". Your US Post Office - thinking like a business.......
When I complained to the desk clerk she got all haughty and said "we don't have the time or resources to fix it. Come back later."
Remember - this is essentially a hole in the wall. The Post Office cannot manage a hole in a wall.
Now the thing has been broken for weeks. I have asked WHEN it will get fixed and have been alternatively advised by different staff members that it will be fixed:
1. Maybe never
2. Don't know
3. Weeks, maybe months - cant find parts for it...
4. Have to take it up with USPS central command.
So - they raise the package rates 20% and fail yet again, on the most basic of things.
USPS - count on us. About 30% of the time.....

Sunday Sunday Sunday! Ahwatukee post office delivers....(not really)
Of course it is busted. Again. So I go home and try to print labels. And the website is down. Big spinning wheel of crap. 100% of my orders delayed. Success ratio in January so far? 5 for 13.
Nice job.....
Nice job.....

To be fair - they ALL suck.
Now, just to be fair, I went to the post office on 51st street trying to avoid the jam that would be 100% guaranteed at the Ahwatukee location. Curses, foiled again. The box was jammed solid and some patriot had tried to erect a sign. From now on, I will be bringing my own out of order sigh for such occasions. Now, I will have to go back to Ahwatukee tonight to complete my mission...
Success rate? 1 for 4

Well, One in a Row...
Visited again tonight. 5 hours after they closed. Night package box is broken. Again. Product success ratio for 2017? 1 out of 3 or 33%. The office flyer was littered with packages and actual mail left laying about. Garbage was full and overflowing. Nice job guys.
